听力原文:M: I can't understand why Mary didn't at least telephone me.
W: She did. Didn't I tell you? She said she was sorry she could not come for dinner, but hoped to be able to next time she came to town.
Q: What did the woman say about Mary?
(19)
A.Mary would not call the woman again.
B.Mary didn't call.
C.Mary would call next time she came to town.
D.That she hoped to come for dinner next time she came to town.
M: I sure did. Why did you ask me about that?
W: Well, I'm thinking about taking it next year. I want to know something about it beforehand.
M: As far as I'm concerned, I suggest that you not take it.
W: Why not? Is the professor awful or is the lecturing boring?
M: The professor is nice enough. But the course is nothing but physics and chemistry with lots of equations. You can't just mix the right chemicals and watch what happens. As you go along you have to keep care notes and turn it all into a bunch of numbers and formulas after the experiment is over. It was the worst course I've ever taken.
W: What you say is no problem for me. To tell you the truth, [ like formulas and numbers. That's what I'm different from you.
M: Is it? Then you'll love it if it is the case. But all that I was interested in was biology and we didn't get to that till the last three weeks of the class. What a year!
Who are the two speakers in the conversation?
A.A student and a professor,
B.A physicist and a biologist.
C.Two students.
D.Two professors.
听力原文:W: First of all, I'd like you to tell me a bit about what you've been doing.
M: Well, I left school after I'd done my A-levels.
W: What subjects did you take?
M: French, German and Art.
W: Art?
M: Well, I really wanted to study Art. But a friend of my father's offered me a job-he's an accountant in the city.
W: I see. In your application, you say that you only spent nine months with this firm of accountants. Why was that?
M: Well, to be quite honest, I didn't like it so I got a place at the Art College a year ago.
W: Did your father mind?
M: Well, he was rather disappointed at first. He's an accountant too, you see.
W: Have you any brothers or sisters?
M: Two brothers, both at school. One's eleven, the other's fifteen taking his O-levels this year.
W: Right. What do you do in your spare time?
M: I like jazz and folk music; I go to the theater occasionally and act a bit myself. I read quite a lot, and I've done a bit of photography. Also, I've traveled a lot.
W: Very interesting, Mr. Plant. I think that's all I wanted to ask about your background.

听力原文:M: I'm never going to that coffee house again!
W: Why?What happened?
M: It's the third time in a week that I've had lousy service. I don't expect five-star treatment, but I do expect service industry employees to be at least civil.
W: What happened this time?
M: I walked in and went up to the counter to place my order. The woman working there was talking to her friend, another customer. I stood there, clearly needing to be waited on and she couldn't have cared less.
W: You mean she didn't even acknowledge you?
M: Are you kidding? She didn't stop talking for one second. When she finally took a breath,I told her my order. She gave me a dirty look and finally turned around to get my coffee. She practically threw it at me!
W: Well, maybe she was having a bad day. At least you got your coffee.
M: I got a cup of coffee, but not the kind I ordered. When I realized it,I went back to the counter and she was still talking to her friend. I interrupted her and told her that I got the wrong order. She had the chutzpah to try to tell me that I had made a mistake in telling her my order. Not only did she not take responsibility for her mistake, she tried to tell me that it was my fault!
W: That's really infuriating. What are you going to do?
M: One good thing about her talking with her friend for so long is that I got her name. I'll be calling the manager to Complain.
W: Aren't you overreacting?
M: No,I'm not. She's lucky I didn't pour the coffee over her head!
