Mobile office is the mutual product of economic, scientific and social progress. Mobile of

fice has become a solution that provides users with convenient, prompt, safe, reliable and reasonably priced communications and office faculty anywhere anytime via the support of mobile interconnection platform. (MIP) and its applications systems.

When you leave your office to attend meetings or travel on business, what would happen to your business routine? Of course, faxes and e-mails would be still sent to your fax machine or e-mail box, but you cannot read them and make prompt reaction timely. When your clients need you to make some urgent modifications on your work and you are neither in the office nor carrying relevant documents, what can you do? Maybe you have to say "sorry" to the clients. But, your business will be affected, the clients will be unhappy and disappointed because of your delay, and you will lose a lot of business opportunities.

In fact, very frequently, you need to check, reply, distribute, display, modify or read some materials when you are not in your office. You must get out of this dilemma. The best solution to normally handle your-business anywhere anytime and not to disappoint your clients is to let your office "move" with you. Thus, you can have convenient, prompt, safe, reliable and reasonably priced communications and office faculty anywhere anytime. With the development of communications technology, network application and wireless interconnection, mobile office has become simpler and smaller, and even can be realized via one mobile phone with data communications function. Thus, mobile office has already been put into your pocket, and office mobility has been realized. Mobile office has provided people with convenient, casual working environment, but at the same time it still has some unsatisfactory aspects such as mismatching equipment interface and inadequate battery. Nevertheless, we believe that with technical progress, people can certainly overcome all kinds of difficulties. Mobile office will make your career successful, and will realize the dream of completely free communication. Users will enjoy more colorful life and better working environment, and users' living standard, working efficiency and even enterprises' production efficiency will certainly be immensely raised.

It can be inferred from the passage that______.

A.mobile office is the only way by which people could enjoy prompt and safe working environment

B.with the development of science, mobile office comes to our life inevitably

C.people had no convenient and reliable communications and office faculty before

More people are now going to dentists' offices, but nearly one half of the United States p
opulation will not see a dentist. Why? They are scared. And, really, what experience is worse than seeing a traditional dentist? You wait in silence, thumbing through old magazines, in a germ-free white waiting room in which no one ever speaks. All is silent until an assistant calls your name and leads you back to another white room, which is filled with machinery to frighten you still further.

At the Medical College of Georgia, dentists are taught principles of behavior. and techniques of office design that should help reduce the patients' anxiety and tension. Assistants and receptionists are taught to smile and speak to the patient. This helps create an environment of trust. Dentists themselves are being taught to communicate more fully with the patient. A phrase such as" you are doing fine" tells the patient that the dentist is appreciative of the patient's unpleasant situation.

Dentists' office is being repainted in colors that make patients feel calmer. A startling color such as red should be avoided at all costs, for red brings to mind blood and pain. Paintings and other things are strategically located so as to turn away the patient's attention. Until recently, dentists had ignored the fact that most patients never see much more than the ceiling of the practice room. Most of the time, patients are lying flat on their backs with little time to busy their minds other than their pains. Now dentists are not only building ceiling with fancy patterns, but also turning away patients' attention with ceiling TV set, computer games and mobile sculptures.

In addition, the practice room is redecorated to include less of white. Uniforms are also being made in soft and earth colors, no longer in white. Some dentists take an active role in teaching their patients deep muscle relaxation and breathing control. Some use advanced techniques, such as bio-feedback to help their patients relax in the chair. Drugs and painkillers may still be used to ease physical pain, but all these techniques of relaxation help the patients relax and avoid anxiety over their pain.

Dentists offices are______.

A.pleasant places in one's memory

B.avoided red color because it is connected with blood and pain

C.decorated very well to attract more patients

D.required to paint white

听力原文:Reporter: So, David, you work for a company that makes dyes for plastics, right?

David: Yes, we make the color pigments for plastics.

Reporter: Mmm...that sounds a bit technical to me. So, you mean you dye the plastic for colored bowls and...er...cups and things?

David: Yes, that's right, and the caps on shampoo bottles, the handles on the inside of cars, the colored cases for your mobile telephones...oh, lots of things...basically anything made of colored plastic.

Reporter: I see. Well, yours is a foreign company in China, isn't it?

David: Yes, it's German. And I'm the Operations Manager for Northeast China.

Reporter: Well, I wonder if you could describe for me your daily routine.

David: Oh, okay. Now...let me see...well, I get to the office at 8: 50 most days.

Reporter: Is that when work officially starts?

David: No, the working day officially starts at 9 o'clock, but I like to get there a little early to organize my day before everyone else comes in and disturbs me.

Reporter: I see. Well, what do you do first of all, when you come in?

David: I first go and switch on all the machines in the laboratory...that is if the technicians haven't got there before me. Then I switch on my computer and check all my e-malls. There are usually quite a few waiting for me, especially from Europe. I try and answer most of them immediately, so that takes me about 20 minutes to half an hour.

Reporter: So that takes you up to about 9: 30?

David: More or less. That's usually when the phone starts ringing. I receive calls from customers asking about color-matching, or about our production.., you know, wanting to know when their product will be ready...er...this goes on all day.

Reporter: Oh.

David: Usually I go and check the color-matching process with the colorist and she might ask me to check the prices or supplies of pigments. I also need to check the production orders ... to see which ones are completed and input them in the computer.

Reporter: So, all this is in the office?

David: Yes, that, s right. Usually I'm running between my office and the lab. At some point each morning, the Country Manager usually pops into my office to have a chat about our marketing strategy and the production. Then I might have meetings with our suppliers, or I might go out and visit customers in the city or in the area around.

Reporter: Mmm...sounds very busy. What about lunch?

David: The lunch break is officially between 12 and one, but I very rarely have time to eat lunch. I usually just have a coffee in the office. Just occasionally, if I'm not too busy, I'll go out for lunch with one of my colleagues,

Question : What does David's company mainly do?

(20)

A.Dyes the plastic for colored products.

B.Makes bowls and cups and things.

C.Produces shampoo bottles, car handles, and so on.

D.Manufactures plastic things.
